I am from a large extended family, which is a huge part of my life, but when I moved away to go to school, I missed having those types of connections. Vita Plus gave me that back. My job is great and I never get up dreading coming into work. All our employee owners and the customers we work with are a big part of what makes Vita Plus such a great place to work.
I began my career by teaching in a local school district, and when we moved to Madison, Wisconsin, for my wife’s job, I decided to leave teaching and look for another opportunity. I started working for Vita Plus in a temporary customer service position. That was more than 20 years ago. I’m now a member of the IT team and my job responsibilities have changed significantly.
My project workload varies from day to day but most often I’m supporting employees across our company by troubleshooting cell phones, computer and application issues. I also assist some of our dealers and customers by troubleshooting their similar IT issues.
In recent years, I’ve also expanded my skills to assist our consultants on farm. Whether it’s utilizing drones to measure forage inventory or setting up cameras to monitor feed bunks, I’m really enjoy having the opportunity to develop new skills and find new ways to make a difference.
My approach to serving customers starts with a commitment to never simply say “no.” Even if I can’t provide exactly what they’re asking for, I focus on finding a solution that moves them forward and leaves the interaction on a positive note. The goal is always to make sure they feel supported, heard and confident that we’re doing everything we can to help.
